Les Roses is loved across the world as the greatest masterpieces of Redoute, the genius painter of botanical art. The first edition was published under the sanctuary of Napoleon’s wife Empress Josephine.

The source of this book is a first edition “Les Roses” from a private collection which was stored in better conditions than any of the other first editions published from 1817 to 1824, even those in the collection of the British Museum, and the images were reproduced at actual size.

This first class picture collection is of course recommended for art lovers, designers, and curators, but also for horticulturists and researchers as a valuable reference for learning more about roses of the era which no longer exist.
